# Actuals

The **Actuals** tab allows you to record the realized benefits and costs for each month of the initiative's lifespan. This data feeds into the *Realized* values shown in the initiative and higher-level overview pages.

  **Actuals are only available for Active initiatives.**<br />Draft initiatives do not have the Actuals tab enabled. An initiative must be submitted and approved before actuals can be recorded.

For each month, enter the **Actual Benefit**, **Actual Cost**, and accompanying notes alongside the estimated values shown for reference. Navigate between years using the arrow controls at the top and bottom of the table.

  **Actuals are entered as nominal (non-PV adjusted) amounts**<br />The values you log here are raw figures. ValueMap applies the present value adjustment automatically behind the scenes. To see the PV-adjusted realized values, go to the initiative analysis section in the Overview page and set the **Projection** selector to *Realized*.

Click **Edit** to enter edit mode, make your updates, and click **Save** to apply. Make sure to click **Expand all** to see all nested rows, as the editable fields will be available per object, per month.

  **Required role**<br />**Super Admin**, **Admin**, and **Contributor** can record and edit actuals. **Viewer** can view the actuals table but cannot enter values.
