Cases is the central workspace of ValueMap. It provides a full view of everything within your organization, allowing you to navigate between portfolios, products, and initiatives, and to create new items within the hierarchy.

Tab navigation and scoping

Each level of the hierarchy (Organization, Portfolio, and Product) has a tab bar split by a divider into two groups:
NavigationNotes
Left of dividerManagement tabs: Overview, Details, Access, and Templates. These let you view aggregated financials and manage the settings of the current level.
Right of dividerNavigation tabs that drill into nested levels, each with a badge showing the count of items. At the org level you see Portfolios, Products, and Initiatives. At the portfolio level you see Products and Initiatives. At the product level you see Initiatives only.
Each tab shows only the items scoped to that level - e.g., the Initiatives tab at portfolio level shows only initiatives within that portfolio. This means the Portfolios tab at the org level shows all portfolios in the org, the Products tab shows all products across all portfolios, and the Initiatives tab shows all initiatives across the org. As you drill down into a specific portfolio or product, the tabs narrow to show only the items within that scope. Who can create what
  • Portfolios: Super Admin / Admin only.
  • Products: Portfolio Editor, Admin, Super Admin.
  • Initiatives: Portfolio Editor, Product Editor, Admin, Super Admin.
If you have not been granted Editor access to at least one portfolio or product, you will not be able to create initiatives from the org level.
